Worried Man Blues es un temazo que sirve como adelanto del que va a ser el nuevo disco del cantante y compositor irlandés Van Morrison, que se lanzará en marzo de este 2023 y llevará por título Moving on Skiffle.

Este segundo sencillo nos descubre como va a ser el esperadísimo nuevo trabajo de "el león de Belfast" donde nos trae las raíces del Skiffle, género que adora Morrison y convierte esta canción en casi un himno con una magia que rodea cada una de sus notas.

La canción fue originariamente grabada en 1930 por La familia Carter y a lo largo de los años ha tenido muchas variaciones en su letra en su numerosas versiones como las que hicieron June Carter y Johnny Cash o The Stanley Brothers.

La versión de Van Morrison que estará incluida en este nuevo álbum, no es su primera versión, ya que apareció anteriormente por vez primera en su álbum de 1998 que llevó por título The Skiffle Sessions - Live in Belfast junto al cantante y músico británico Lonnie Donegan y el músico ingles Chris Barber.

Flowers es una canción lanzada en este 2023 que acaba de empezar por la cantante estadounidense Miley Cyrus y que sirve como carta de presentación del que será su esperado próximo álbum que llevará por título Endless Summer Vacation.

Year of the Cat

Year of the Cat es una deliciosa canción escrita y compuesta por el cantante y compositor escocés Al Stewart lanzado como sencillo en 1976, formando parte de su álbum del mismo título.

El tema fue grabado en los famosos Abbey Road Studios por el músico e ingeniero de sonido Alan Parsons, uno de los integrantes de la banda de The Alan Parsons Project.

La canción es de las que se te quedan grabada en la memoria del corazón y se caracteriza por sus largas secciones musicales. En la versión del álbum tiene más de 4 minutos de momentos instrumentales, entre los que se encuentran un solo de piano, uno de guitarra acústica, de guitarra eléctrica distorsionada y de saxofón.

La evocadora melodía se le ocurrió a Al en una gira por Estados Unidos junto a la cantante estadounidense Linda Ronstadt en una prueba de sonido previa a uno de sus conciertos. Uno de los músicos de Stewart, el teclista Peter Wood improvisó unos acordes que se los presto a Al Stewart y con ellos compuso la música de este espectacular e icónico tema.

Sin embargo, la letra se le resistió más y tuvo varias versiones hasta encontrar la letra definitiva. Primeramente la letra giraba en torno a un antiguo texto que había guardado en 1966 que hablaba sobre el comediante inglés Tony Hancock, el cual se quito la vida en Australia y al recuperar el texto y presentárselo a la compañía discográfica, está la rechazó, así que Al cambió el título de la canción por el de Horse of the Year dedicado "irónicamente" a la princesa Ana de Inglaterra, obteniendo nuevamente el rechazo de la discográfica.

Fue entonces, cuando su novia en aquel momento, dejó abierto un libro sobre la astrología vietnamita y la página en la que Stewart se fijó era la del año del gato. Al compositor escocés le gustó como título de su canción y el azar unió que en ese momento en la televisión se estuviese emitiendo la película Casablanca, protagonizada por Humphrey Bogart y Peter Lorre y decidió mencionarlos al inicio de la canción y a partir de ese momento fue tejiendo una historia que unía el cine y el zodiaco, hasta que consiguió perfeccionarla y crear esta maravilla musical por la que no pasa el tiempo y que siempre es un placer escucharla.

Tócala, Uli es una pegadiza canción del grupo español Gabinete Caligari que aparece dentro de su álbum de 1987 que llevó por título Camino Soria.

El tema es un homenaje a Ulises Montero Santuy, quien fuera saxofonista de la banda y que falleció unos meses antes.

La canción aparece también en el álbum recopilatorio de 2004 llamado La culpa fue de Gabinete y en el álbum Enjoy lanzado en solitario en 2007 por el vocalista del grupo, Jaime Urrutia.
