The Healing Game

Here I am again
Back on the corner again
Back where I belong
Where I've always been
Everything the same
It don't ever change
I'm back on the corner again
In the healing game

Down those ancient streets
Down those ancient roads
Where nobody knows
Where nobody goes
I'm back on the corner again
Everything the same
It don't ever change
In the healing game

Where the choirboys sing
Where I've always been
Sing the song with soul
Baby don't you know
We can let it roll
On the saxophone
Back street Jelly Roll
In the healing game

Where the homeboys sing
Sing their songs of praise
'Bout their golden days
In the healing game

Sing it out loud
Sing it in your name
Sing it like you're proud
Sing the healing game
Sing it out loud
Sing it in your name
Sing it like you're proud
Sing the healing game

Sing the healing game
Sing the healing game
Sing it in your name
Sing the healing game....

That's Life

That's life (that's life)That's what all the people sayYou're riding high in April, shot down in MayBut I know I'm gonna change that tuneWhen I'm back on top, back on top in June

I said that's life (that's life)And as funny as it may seemSome people get their kicksStomping on a dreamBut I don't let it, let it get me downCause this fine old world, it keeps spinnin' around

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poetA pawn and a kingI've been up and down and over and outAnd I know one thingEach time I find myselfFlat on my faceI pick myself up and getBack in the race

That's life (that's life)I tell you, I can't deny itI thought of quitting, babyBut my heart just ain't gonna buy itAnd if I didn't think it was worth one single tryI'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poetA pawn and a kingI've been up and down and over and outAnd I know one thingEach time I find myself layin'Flat on my faceI just pick myself up and getBack in the race

That's life (that's life)That's life and I can't deny itMany times I thought of cutting out, but my heart won't buy itBut if there's nothing shaking, come this here JulyI'm gonna roll myself upIn a big ball and die

My, my

Worried Man Blues

Train I ride is twenty one coaches long
Train I ride twenty one coaches long
Train I ride twenty one coaches long
One I love is on that train and gone

And it takes a worried man to sing a worried song
It takes a worried man to sing a worried song
takes a worried man sing a worried song
I´m worried now but I won´t be worried long

Around my ankles twenty one links of chain
Around my ankles twenty one links of chain
Around my ankles twenty one links of chain
On each one there´s engraved my name

Well it takes a worried man to sing a worried song
It takes a worried man to sing a worried song
It takes a worried man to sing a worried song
I´m worried now, baby, but I won´t be worried long, all right

Train I ride is twenty one coaches long
Train that I ride is twenty one coaches long
Train that I ride twenty one coaches long
The one I love is on that rain and gone

Well I went across the river and I laid me down to sleep
I went across the river and I laid me down to sleep
Went across the river laid me down to sleep
When I woke up there was shackles on my feet

Well it takes a worried man to sing a worried song
It takes a worried man to sing a worried song
It takes a worried man to sing a worried song
I´m worried now, but I won´t be worried long

Well I went across the river and I laid me down to sleep
I went across that river and I laid me down to sleep
I went, I went, I went across the river laid me down to sleep
When I woke, when I woke up there was shackles on my feet

Train that I ride is twenty one coaches long
Train that I ride is twenty one coaches long
Train that I ride twenty one coaches long
Baby, I´m gonna be on that train and gone

Well it takes a worried man to sing a worried song
Well it takes a worried man to sing a worried song
Well it takes a worried man to sing a worried song
I´m worried now, but I won´t be worried long
(One more time)

Well it takes a worried man to sing a worried song
It takes a worried man to sing a worried song
It takes a worried man to sing a worried song
I´m worried now, but I won´t be worried long

I Got Nothin´

I got nothing I can give you, baby
I got no money in the bank
I got nothing I can give you
I got no money in the bank

I spent down my every dollar
All those years I drank

I got no place I can take you
I got no room to call my own
I got no place I can take you
I got no room to call my own

I've got no landlord or landlady
No, I don't even have a phone

I got no song that I can sing you
I can even stay in tune

Try to tell you that I love you, baby, but I'm howling at the moon
I ain't got no fancy wardrobe
Just this shirt that's on my back
But I know that I can love you, baby
More than any other Jack

You don't see me wearing diamonds
You don't see me wearing gold
But I got that special something
Warm you up when you get cold
I'll go to work for you, baby
I'll build you up a pretty home

We'll take a train to Chicago, baby
We'll even fly a plane to Rome (I kid you not)

I got a love that lasts forever, baby
I ain't got nothing more
I got a love that lasts forever baby
I ain't got nothing more

Oh give me one little chance
I'll show you, baby, what I got in store

What do you need from me, baby
What do you want from me
What do you need from me, baby
What do you want from me

I'll make the magic happen
Come on over here and see
Come to me, baby

You know I asked my friend Jimmy
Asked my friend John (I know John)
I asked my friend Willy and then
Asked my friend Don

I said, "What do you think, friends?"
Do you know what they said, know what they said
They said give me one little chance, little chance
Show you what I got instead

Days Like This

When it's not always raining there'll be days like this
When there's no one complaining there'll be days like this
When everything falls into place like the flick of a switch
Well my mama told me there'll be days like this

When you don't need to worry there'll be days like this
When no one's in a hurry there'll be days like this
When all the parts of the puzzle start to look like they fit it
Then I must remember there'll be days like this

When you don't need an answer there'll be days like this
When you don't meet a chancer there'll be days like this
When you don´t get betrayed by that old Judas kiss
Then I must remember there'll be days like this

There'll be days like this

When everyone is up front and they're not playing tricks
When you don't have no freeloaders out to get their kicks
When it's nobody's business the way that you want to live
Well my mama told me there'll be days like this

When no one steps on my dreams there'll be days like this
When people understand what I mean there'll be days like this
When you ring out the changes of how everything is
Well my mama told me there'll be days like this

Nanana nananana
Nanana nananana

Oh my mama told me
There'll be days like this
Oh my mama told me
There'll be days like this
Oh my mama told me
There'll be days like this
Oh my mama told me
There'll be days like this

Dark Night Of The Soul

Something else don't stop that longing
Or something new or something old
I'm on my way to understanding
Things that I might yet not know

In the dark night of the soul
In the dark night of the soul

Sitting here but I didn't plan it
Well the plans of mice and men have gone astray
Standing here on the landing
Looking at a brand new day

In the dark night of the soul
In the dark night of the soul
In the dark night of the soul
In the dark night of the soul

Meditate on this and it will be revealed
Meditate on this and you will get healed
Meditate on this and you will feel whole
Get the vision of the ghost, again

In the dark night of the soul
In the dark night of the soul
In the dark night of the soul
In the dark night of the soul

Sitting here but I didn't plan it this way
Well the plans of mice and men have gone astray
Now I'm standing on the landing
I'm looking for a brand new day

In the dark night of the soul
In the dark night of the soul
In the dark, in the dark night
In the dark night
In the dark night
In the dark night
In the dark night
In the dark night
In the dark, in the dark night of the soul
Of the soul
In the dark night
In the dark night
In the dark night
In the dark night of the soul
In the dark night
In the dark night
In the dark, dark, dark, dark, dark night
Dark night
In the dark night
In the dark, dark, dark, dark, dark night
Of the soul, the soul, the soul
The soul, the soul, the soul
The soul, the soul, the soul
The soul, the soul, the soul
The soul, the soul, the soul
The soul, the soul, the soul

Days Gone By

Well I know I said that so long ago
I would not say it now
But I didn't know what I said would stick like glue
What I said in the days gone by

Well they tried to stitch me up, so many words I said
I said so long ago
But we were, oh, so young and foolish then
Hopefully we can make mistakes and then we grow

For the days of auld lang syne, my love
For the days of auld lang syne
I want to drink, I want to drink a cup of kindness with you
For the sake, for the sake of the days gone by

And hopefully we will, hopefully we will keep on growing and growing
Baby, baby, baby, baby, 'till we reach the sky
If I ever reach, I have never yet
But I'm gonna surely, gonna surely have to try, have to try

For the sake of auld lang syne, my dear
For the sake of auld lang syne
I want to drink a cup, drink a cup of kindness
For the sake, for the sake of the days gone by

Yeah, yeah

Well I feel so, feel so sorry for the ones who lead
For to lead, they want to lead such a perfect life
Sweep under everything
Sweep everything underneath the rug
And they're never free from conflict, from conflict and strife

Because they perpetuate, perpetuate some kind of lie, my love
Perpetuate, perpetuate the lie
But everything I'm doing, everything I'm doing
I had to fight for it, had to fight for it
In the days
In the days gone by

There is no easy, no easy way out, my friend
You got to get used to it, used to it somehow
Everything you got in your life right up to now
Somebody had to fight for it, you had to fight for it
In the days gone by

Well go walking, walking, walking up that hillside, now
Where the heather, where the heather
Where the heather's growing so wild
Then I'm going to carry my child, carry my child on my shoulders
Across the river, across the river
For the sake, for the sake of the days gone by

For the days gone by, my dear
For the days, for the days gone by
I want to share a cup, share a cup of kindness with you
For the sake, for the sake of auld lang syne

For auld, for auld lang syne, my dear
For the sake, for the sake, for the sake of auld lang syne
I'm gonna carry my child on my back across the river
Gonna keep on walking, keep on walking
Walking in the days, in the days of auld lang syne

Have mercy now, have mercy now
Have mercy, have mercy now
Gonna keep on keepin' on, keep on keepin' on
Keep on keepin' on, keep on keepin' on
For the sake, for the sake of the days gone by

Everything I have in my life right now
I had to fight, had to fight for it somehow
Gotta keep on fighting, keep on fighting
Fighting today, fighting today
For the sake of the days gone by

For old acquaintance be forgot
Yeah, never, never, never brought to mind
I want to drink a cup, drink a cup, drink a cup of kindness
For the sake of auld lang syne

For the sake, for the days gone by my love
For the sake of auld lang syne
I wanna drink, I want to share, share a cup of kindness
For the sake of the days gone by

If We Wait for Mountains

The world is full of wonders
It's never far away
It's right before your eyes
Every single day

Look of lovers walking hand in hand
Sound of music from a big band
Antique market in the village square
Pretty waitress with the long blonde hair

You'd find something every day
Take your breath away
World is filled with wonders
No matter what they say

You don't have to wait for mountains
Lift your spirits high
Wide oceans or deep valleys
Or eagles flying by

Wonders all around us
And life is all we've got
If you wait for mountains then you're
Gonna miss a lot

Look of lovers walking hand in hand
Sound of music from a big band
Antique market in the village square
Pretty waitress with the long blonde hair

You don't have to wait
Lift your spirits high
'Cause love is all around us
That's the reason why

Love is all around us
Love is all we've got
If we wait for mountains then
Gonna miss a lot
