It´s a Hard Life es una maravillosa canción de la banda británica Queen, compuesta por Freddie Mercury y lanzada como tercer sencillo de su álbum de 1984 que llevó por título The works.
Un tema con sonidos operísticos, a los que la banda de rock nos tiene acostumbrados y el principio del tema está basado en la línea "Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!" un aria de la ópera Pagliacci de Ruggero Leoncavallo, que aparece también dentro de la banda sonora de la película A Night At The Opera, título que dio nombre también a un disco de Queen de 1975.
El video, dirigido por Tim Pope, se rodó en Múnich durante dos días y en el se puede ver a los integrantes de la banda caracterizados de forma operística y también (como curiosidad) aparece una guitarra de un cráneo y huesos, tocada por Brian May y que costó más de 1.000 libras esterlinas.
