Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Girls Just Want to Have Fun es una de las mejores canciones de pop de la década de los 80, compuesta por Robert Hazard en 1979, quien la grabó dándole una visión masculina, pero en 1983 la interpretó la cantante estadounidense Cyndi Lauper, llevándolo a su terreno y dándole una visión más femenina y feminista, apareciendo dentro de su álbum de debut de 1983 que llevó por título She´s So Unusual y que fue lanzado como primer sencillo.

La versión de Lauper fue un auténtico éxito, llegando al número 2 dentro de las listas musicales de Estados Unidos y el Reino Unido, y al Nº 1 en 10 países. Recibió 2 nominaciones a los Premios Grammy, uno como Grabación del Año y el otro como Mejor Interpretación Vocal Femenina.

Un temazo que se ha convertido por derecho propio en un clásico del pop de todos los tiempos y que por supuesto ha tenido numerosas versiones, entre las que destacan las de Katy Perry, Kelly Rowland, Miley Cyrus, Jessie J o Nicki Minaj, pero la de Cyndi Lauper seguirá siendo mágica, única y especial.
