Morning Train (Nine to Five)

9 to 5 es una pegadiza canción escrita y compuesta por Florrie Palmer e interpretada por la cantante escocesa Sheena Easton que fue lanzada como segundo sencillo en 1980 del que sería su álbum publicado al año siguiente y que llevó por título Take My Time.

El tema, posiblemente el mayor éxito en la carrera de la artista escocesa, fue lanzado en 1981 en Estados Unidos y Canadá bajo el título Morning Train (Nine to Five) para evitar confusiones con el reciente éxito de la cantante estadounidense Dolly Parton que tenía por título 9 to 5.

La canción de Easton fue uno de los sencillos más vendidos del año consiguiendo llegar a las primeras posiciones de las listas musicales de varios países como el Reino Unido, Estados Unidos, Australia, Canadá o Nueva Zelanda, logrando mantenerse durante 4 meses en los listados musicales.

All the Ways es la nueva canción que nos traen en este 2024 el dúo estadounidense The Secret Sisters, escrita por sus componentes Laura Rogers y Lydia Slagle y que interpretan junto al cantante estadounidense Ray LaMontagne.

LaMontagne fue el primer artista en invitar a The Secret Sisters a una gira hace ya más de una década y desde entonces han seguido actuando juntos a lo largo de estos años tanto en giras de Estados Unidos como en Europa.

El tema es el segundo adelanto del que será el nuevo álbum del dúo, que llevará por título Mind, Man, Medicine.

You Shook Me All Night Long en una grandísima canción de la banda australiana AC/DC, compuesta por los hermanos Young (Angus y Malcolm) junto a Brian Johnson, que pertenece a su álbum Back in Black lanzado en 1980, aunque también apareció posteriormente dentro del álbum de 1986 que llevó por título Who Made Who, lanzándose en esta ocasión como sencillo.

El tema se ha convertido en unos de los mayores éxitos de la banda y una canción fija en sus conciertos quedándose en nuestra memoria musical el magnífico y característico riff, al igual que el solo de guitarra realizado por Angus Young.

Singin' in the Rain

Singin' in the Rain es una maravillosa canción escrita en 1929 por el letrista estadounidense Arthur Freed y compuesta por Nacio Herb Brown que aparece por vez primera en la revista de Broadway The Hollywood Music Box Revue, siendo Doris Eaton Travis la primera artista en interpretarla.

Pero en 1952 llegan Stanley Donen y Gene Kelly dirigiendo una película con el mismo título que la canción y protagonizada por el propio Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor y Debbie Reynolds y consiguen convertirla en un clásico, al igual que la escena en la película, logrando que con solo sonar las primeras notas, ya nos imaginemos a Gene Kelly cantándola y bailando en una noche lluviosa chapoteando en los charcos, mientras es inmensamente feliz al sentirse enamorado.

Ha tenido muchas versiones, entre las que se pueden destacar la que en 1940 realizó Judy Garland para la película musical Little Nellie Kelly dirigida por Norman Taurog, una adaptación a la pantalla grande del musical del mismo nombre, la que en 2009 hace Jamie Cullum en Hong Kong mezclándola con Umbrella, la canción de Rihanna o la que en 2013 realiza en televisión Robbie Williams, entre otras muchas versiones.

Suspiro Tierno (La Soleá) es el primer sencillo del álbum debut de la banda o proyecto musical Ángeles, Víctor, Gloria & Javier, lanzado en 2023 y que lleva por título Tengo tres estrellas y veinte cruces.

Además de ser su primer sencillo también forma parte de la banda sonora de la primera película dirigida por Mario Casas que lleva el título de Mi soledad tiene alas.

El tema fue creado como homenaje al poema La soleá de Federico García Lorca en el año de su centenario y es una mezcla de emociones y diferentes estilos musicales que cuando se juntan consiguen hacer magia.

Top of the World es una canción escrita y compuesta en 1972 por Richard Carpenter y John Bettis, convirtiéndose en un Nº 1 para el dúo estadounidense Carpenters.

El tema apareció dentro de su álbum A Song for You e inicialmente iba a formar parte del repertorio del disco, sin destacarla como single, pero cuando la cantante de country estadounidense Lynn Anderson lanzó una versión en 1973 con la que consiguió un gran éxito, Carpenters se molestó porque ellos no habían lanzado su versión como sencillo, haciéndolo finalmente más tarde.

Karen Carpenter volvió a grabar su voz principal para el lanzamiento del sencillo porque no estaba satisfecha con la grabación original y la nueva versión apareció en el primer álbum recopilatorio del dúo que se llamo The Singles: 1969-1973.
