Hoy me detengo en la canción The Truth del cantante británico James Blunt, un pegadizo tema que forma parte del álbum Once Upon a Mind, publicado en octubre de 2019 por el sello Atlantic Records. The Truth está escrito por James Blunt, Cleo Tighe y Steve Robson, y producida por Robson —un colaborador con el que Blunt ya ha trabajado en otros proyectos— junto al productor Mike Wise.

Musicalmente, la canción combina una guitarra acústica y un ritmo que se siente más rítmico de lo que muchas veces se asocia con Blunt.

The Truth es un viaje interior de alguien que ha vivido experiencias intensas y ha caminado solo por caminos propios, hasta comprender que lo que importa no es la velocidad a la que vamos, ni la acumulación de momentos, sino la persona que nos está esperando para estar a nuestro lado.

Dentro del contexto de Once Upon a Mind, la canción encaja con la narrativa emocional que Blunt planteó para el disco, donde los temas están definidos por experiencias personales y reflexiones sobre la vida y el propio Blunt comentó que que cada canción del álbum surgía de vivencias recientes o estados del corazón que quería compartir.
